Amid the cabinet reshuffle, in another surprising move, the BJP leader RK Singh has been inducted in the cabinet reshuffle appointed as the independent charge of the power ministry. RK Singh who was the former home secretary will serve as the minister. Earlier the portofolio was handled by Piyush Goyal.
Now Piyush Goyal has been promoted as the new railway minister of thc country.
Keeping aside all the speculation regarding the cabinet speculations and portofolios, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reshuffled his cabinet today. In the new cabinet, Suresh Prabhu will be the new commerce and industry minister.
The major change is for defence ministry in which ,Nirmala Sitharaman will be the next defence Minister of the country.
Certainly the selection of Nirmala Sitharaman as the defence minister is the major change and crucial step for PM Modi who has become the first independent woman defence minister of India.

According to media reports, Hardeep Puri is now Minister of State, Urban Development whereas Smriti Irani retains Information and Broadcasting ministry.
It is noted that Smriti Irani, held the additional charge after the elevation of Venkaiah Naidu as the Vice-President of India. Now she will retain the I&B portfolio as earlier.
In another move, Dharmendra Pradhan who had the independent charge of the oil and petroleum ministry,will now see the new skill development minister.
Earlier Rajiv Pratap Rudy was the skill development minister who resigned recently amid the cabinet reshuffle scenario.
