New Delhi: Now there is a reason for smile to the students of NDMC schools children. In the latest move, the Chairman of the Education Committee of North Delhi Municipal Corporation, Ms. Rekha Gupta today displayed the new designed uniform for 4.5 lac students studying in 780 Municipal Schools in the North Delhi Municipal Corporation. She said that this uniform has been designed by M/S. Indo British Garments free of cost. This uniform comprises of maroon red check shirt and coffee colour pant/skirt.
On the occasion she informed that the uniform of the students of Municipal Schools had not been changed for many years. The students were also not provided with the uniform but cash @ 300 Rs. for nursery students and @ 800 Rs. to the students of primary classes. She said that she is hopeful of distribution of stitched uniform to students in the next session by the month of June.
Chairman Education Committee said that the new uniform would be attractive and would also be helpful in raising the confidence level of the students. Ms. Gupta said that to provide the newly designed stitched uniform the amount for uniform had been increased from Rs. 300 to 500 and Rs. 800 to 1500 respectively.
She said the distribution of uniform would be through a store managed by the company which would get the tender, on the requisition of the principals of the schools. The set of uniform would comprise a set of winter and summer uniform. She said that we had principle of 4D (Desk, Dress, Discipline and Development) when we took over, out of which most of the work for desk and dress is almost complete, the work on discipline and development of building on concept of BALA is in the process.
